Pengembangan Video Dokumenter sebagai Media Promosi Potensi dan Identitas Desa Rulung Mulya Kecamatan Natar Lampung Selatan

Abstract

Showcasing a village's potential requires documentation that bridges information about the area with the lived experiences of its residents. Economic activities, agricultural practices, social interactions, and daily life in Rulung Mulya Village have not yet been comprehensively captured in structured audiovisual documentation. This community service initiative aimed to produce a documentary video through the "Village through the Lens" (*Desa dalam Lensa*) program, serving as a medium to showcase the village's potential and identity while creating a digital archive. The project was carried out in Rulung Mulya Village, Natar District, South Lampung Regency, during the second Community Service Program (*Kuliah Kerja Nyata*) period of 2026. A participatory documentation method with a human-interest approach was employed. Field information was compiled descriptively, highlighting the interconnections between the environment, resident activities, local potential, challenges, and community aspirations. The project resulted in a documentary video lasting approximately five to seven minutes, structured to cover the village introduction, community life, potential, challenges, hopes, and future outlook. Interview footage and shots of resident activities formed the core narrative elements, while supplementary photos and recordings provided material for archiving. Evaluation identified sound quality, visual variety, time management, and archive organization as areas requiring further improvement. While the initiative successfully produced documentation to help introduce the village to a wider audience, the effectiveness of promotional efforts and impacts on the community's economic status were not measured.
